Food stylist and author Karen Tack, shows parents how to create super cute cupcakes of Ming Ming the duck (from Nick Jr.’s TV series, “The Wonder Pets”) using store bought supplies like chocolate taffy, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and canned frosting.

In this DROPS video we show two ways to make a provisional cast on where you afterward will have live sts to work the opposite way.

First we are casting on using a waste yarn, then we are casting on around the cable of a circular needle. When using the circular needle you can easily afterward just pull the needle through to knit position and start working the sts for a hem, cuff, border etc.

In this DROPS video we show how you can weave in tails in stocking stitch.

Always weave in your tails on the wrong side of your knitted stocking st piece. With the needle and yarn follow the stitches sideways over 2 rows. Halfway through video we show you the same thing with a contrasting yarn to make it easier to follow.

As you can see with this method your weaved in tail will not show on your right side.

“In the beginning it was all black and white.“ ―Maureen O’Hara

The world isn’t black and white, but maybe sometimes it is best viewed in it. Black and white photography allows us as the viewers to infer colors, to see contrast and requires us to look deeper into the photograph.

I have always been drawn to B&W photography. Whether it was the street photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson or the dramatic landscapes of Ansel Adams, the starkness of the images spoke to me. I wanted to create a Black and White Nightscape Time-lapse because there is something special about the tonality of the night sky and how it lends itself to being monochromatic.

Many times as photographers we will look at an image that doesn’t look quite right or doesn’t have brilliant lighting and a colorful sunset and say, “I’ll just convert it to black and white to save it.” However, I have found that usually creates a bland B&W image. Black and white photos need to invoke emotion without the help of color. They are pure. They need to be powerful.

When going through my library to select time-lapses to convert to black and white for this short film, I found that many times clips that looked great in color didn’t work as well in black and white and I actually had to be more selective.

I hope you will take a few minutes to watch this short time-lapse.

In this DROPS video we show how you can knit in the round on two circular needles.

When you knit a smaller piece in the round like a sock or a cuff, and you don’t want to use or you don’t have double pointed needles, you can knit in the round using two circular needles.
Cast on with one circular, divide sts by moving half the sts to another circular. Pull needles through to the side where you have the working yarn. Make sure sts on round are not twisted when joining. Start knitting sts on the needle not attached to working yarn. Always make sure to tighten first stitch on needle. Knit with the same needle as the worked sts are on, let the other needle rest.
