4/29 Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger recently sat for an interview with Tyler Englander of 8News WRIC. The reporter asked the Governor about her campaign promises of affordability for Virginians, and how rejoining the RGGI environmental nonprofit helps to succeed in that goal.
Spanberger explained that while there is a small cost increase associated with rejoining RGGI, this is a small price to pay in protecting our environment. She also explained that the additional cost can be offset with solar panels that can be purchased for only $1,000 – $2,000 and made more available and easier to install with the Balcony Solar Law. One would only need to purchase the panel and install on their balcony or in their yard and they could be seeing savings within 5 – 10 years.
